U18 boys beat the Lycée on penalties

A very strong and promising performance by the whole U18 Football team on Saturday morning against the Lycée International. Everyone did their job perfectly and as a result we were able to control the rhythm of play and dominate the possession. If it was not for a couple of unlucky slip ups by the defence, we would have breezed past them and won comfortably, however two undeserving goals for the Lycée meant the match ended as a draw; two goals apiece, and we went to penalties to decide the winner. Fortunately, we were able to step up and impressive penalties taken by Romain, Philipp, Jamie, Henryk and Noah and a save from Luke meant that we came out on top.
I would like to personally congratulate two players who had a key impact on the game and who I thought were especially vital to the outcome. Firstly, Romain who scored the second goal and who was constantly chipping away at the Lycée’s defence, giving them a lot to worry about and forcing them into making mistakes.

As well as Philipp in defence who put his body on the line in every tackle and gave everything he had, resulting in him having to leave the pitch early due to a rib injury.
