Egyptian Day in Year 3
Class 3H had a fabulous day in school learning about the Egyptians. They wore ancient Egyptian costumes, some of which had been cleverly crafted by the children themselves. They had the opportunity to climb into an Egyptian tomb and search for artefacts by lamplight, make a mummy and mummify it, work as a team to construct a pyramid from sugar cubes, and superimpose their photo onto a greenscreen background. The day was rounded off by eating delicious Egyptian food kindly prepared by the parents.
The next day, the theme continued as 3H visited the Egyptian section of the Louvre. They were taken around by two museum guides, who had many interesting facts and stories to share. The guides were impressed by the children’s knowledge and their impeccable behaviour.
