Year 13 Architecture
Year 13 Architecture pupils visited the world famous Villa Savoye in Poissy. Designed by Le Corbusier in 1931 it remains a hugely influential example of modernist architecture, which we are very lucky to have so close to the school.
Pupils learnt about Le Corbusier’s ‘Five Points of a New Architecture’; pilotis, roof garden, open plan design, horizontal windows and free design of the façade. The visit will undoubtedly be the source of much inspiration as our pupils move through the design and development process in their own architectural projects.
