Bronze Expedition to Jambville

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Awards twenty eight Bronze participants have been quite busy during the first six weeks of school. Their meetings were spent planning their Adventurous Journey practice expedition, creating Aims for the journey, and working out how to cover approximately 16km each day. All six teams set off last Sunday for Jambville, camping at night and journeying during the day. Whilst away the teams learnt new skills including orienteering, outdoor cooking with a trangia, setting up camp and packing their kit correctly. Each team navigated their way through the forests and fields with a supervisor on the first day but on their own on the second – experiencing both good and wet weather. Congratulations to them all for completing such a demanding journey.
