Legacy of Alan Turing in Maths
In the Maths department this week we discussed the legacy and work of Alan Turing. We covered his war-time work, his contribution to Maths, Computing and Science as well as the prejudice and injustice he faced as a gay man.
Pupils from Year 7 to 12 watched videos, created posters and tried making and cracking their own codes. We also held a Cold War re-enactment with our Sixth Form students, breaking codes to decrypt the messages and win the challenge.
