Carbon Literacy Project
This week the Year 8s have spent two days on a carbon literacy project. The first day was led by Ana Robb, from Albatross Revolution, creating a climate collage and devising plans to help reduce our carbon emissions. Day two was spent at a permaculture project in Achères learning about how to produce food in a carbon neutral way. As you can see from these pictures they also had great fun. Massive thank you to Ana Robb and to Intergraterre for such fabulous days.
“Carbon Literacy Day was very interesting. I think it is vital to have such a day every year. It informs us on the impact of humanity on the planet and the different things we can do to protect the planet.
Gardening Day was interesting as well even though the compost was challenging due to the smell. It taught me about the sacrifices we have to make to save the environment.” Jana
“During the Carbon Literacy Day I got to learn more about the Carbon Cycle… and about how much of a Carbon Footprint common objects leave during the process of production.” Kate
“Gardening was also compelling. I realised the amount of hard work all gardeners and farmers put in to grow agricultural products.” Ryaed
