DofE Gold Expedition

The Gold Award participants successfully completed their assessed expedition from 12-15 June. Two teams undertook four days of hiking through the hills of Côte-d’Or carrying 16 to 18 kg of equipment in their rucksacks, camping under the stars, and cooking their food outdoors.

The nine participants covered more than 175km in total, walking under the hot sun through and around vineyards and hiking up rugged terrain in the forests. This is only one part of their award as they have also worked on completing 52 hours in the Skill, Physical Recreation, and Voluntary Service sections.  The Gold Award is the highest Award in the Duke of Edinburgh programme, often taking up to two years to complete during Years 12 and 13. Congratulations to the Gold Award teams – we are very proud of you!

The following participants from Year 13 will have completed all their Award qualifications and receive their certificate this year: Joshua, Isla and Alex.

The following participants started on their Gold Award in the Autumn and will continue working towards completing it in the upcoming year: Katherine, Cara, Isabel, Lucas, Emilie, Max and Gregorio.
