Impressionism in Year 3
Year 3 children have been learning about the Impressionist painters and the techniques they used.
This week they studied both Renoir’s and Monet’s paintings of “La Grenouillère”. They talked about the similarities and differences between the two artworks.
The children used watercolours to paint their own version of the painting. Both of the “La Grenouillère” paintings show the Camembert Island which has a single tree and is linked by gangplanks to the Ile de la Grenouillère and the fashionable La Grenouillère floating restaurant and boat hire at Croissy-sur-Seine!
