Flushed with success!
The Year 7’s charity project is to raise awareness about the health benefits of building toilets in some of the poorest countries in the world; 2.3 billion people do not have somewhere safe to go to the toilet. Our aim is to raise enough money to twin all our school toilets with another new toilet some-where in the world where it is needed. Essentially we are raising money to build toilets and save lives – 60 euros buys a toilet. In return we will place a framed certificate by our chosen twinned school toilet. Last year we twinned 6 toilets – the certificates can be seen outside loos in the Curie, Redgrave and Kett buildings.
Following today’s effort we are now well on our way to twinning at least 7 more. This includes a staff funded toilet in memory of former colleague, Derek Lewis and a Governors’ loo too. Well done to Year 7s for doing such a fantastic job at spreading awareness and saving lives.
