Duke of Edinburgh’s International Awards 2019
Last week the Silver DofE team embarked on their final qualifying journey in their quest for their Silver Award. They travelled to Pontgibaud to begin their expedition, focused on their aim of tracking their steps, speed and stamina throughout the three-day journey. They excelled themselves with their almost military organisation, accurate navigation, and perfect time-keeping!
This Wednesday, we celebrated the hard work and perseverance of the students who have participated in the DofE’s International Award. Doing the Award is a personal challenge and not a competition against others; it pushes young people to their personal limits and recognises their achievements. The award can be pursued at three different levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. This year, we had the pleasure of awarding 30 awards over these three levels: 18 Bronze, 7 Silver and 5 Gold. Congratulations to all those who have achieved such an honour as well as those who will continue to pursue their goals in the coming years.
