Year 3 Impressionists’ Walk

Children from Year 3 walked in the footsteps of the Impressionist painters. Ambling along the sunny towpath of the Seine, they found several places of interest and acted as art historians, gathering information and sketching what they could see there  now.

The highlight was a picnic lunch in the park followed by a chance to create their own art ‘en plein air’ with the water colour paint sets we had brought along with us.

There was even time for some fun and games and a well appreciated ice lolly to cool off in the park on the return to school.

It was a long walk – almost 9km in total – and all the children did fantastically well to complete it in good humour.
