Year 12 Geographers Trip to Cergy-Pontoise
Our Year 12 Geographers spent Monday navigating the leafy and not-so-leafy streets of Cergy-Pontoise collecting data on urban land use, shopping index, environmental and residential quality. The task now is to evaluate the sustainability of the urban planning of this new town. Their reading of the 1965 Schéma Directeur offered some perspective on the global issue of alleviating the pressure on land due to urbanisation.
