History Trip to Poland

“The History Trip involved our travel across Poland, from the Jewish Quarter in Krakow, to the urban city of Warsaw, and to various concentration camps over the country. The most intriguing part of the History Trip, in my opinion, was the visit to the Auschwitz death camp. Despite the somber atmosphere, the experience was extremely memorable and definitely left an indelible mark on us. The truth of the horrors inflicted on the Jews became much more real to us, compared to learning about the Holocaust in class. Tours of Krakow and Warsaw were also interesting, as we were informed not only about events during World War II, but also the more recent history of Poland – the rise and fall of communism. The heaviness of the trip came along with many fun experiences, and I would greatly recommend it to any younger pupils.” – Megan, Year 10
