Chelsea Pensioners come to the Junior School

Former members of the armed forces came to visit Year 6. They had travelled here from the Royal Hospital of Chelsea. The hospital was built to give homes to ex-servicemen who have now retired.

‘The Chelsea Pensioners told us a lot about their life in the Royal Hospital and when they served in the army. It was fascinating to hear them talk about their medals, achievements and awards.’
‘They had an amazing red outfit and we learnt a lot of facts about them.’
‘It was a good experience because we got to find out what it was like for them in times of war.’
‘The Chelsea Pensioners were amazing and it was fun to hear their stories.’
