Armistice Day
Many parents will have seen the School’s field of remembrance with its ceramic poppies, bleuets and forget me nots in front of the Morisot Building. This is a place for reflection and a way of communicating the importance of remembrance to the wider community who pass our school railings every day or as they take their dog for a walk at the weekend. On Sunday, to commemorate the end of World War One a small number of staff, parents and scouts joined together with the mayor of Croissy M. Davin to hear readings and plant poppies and bleuets for remembrance. We were also delighted to welcome two serving members of the RAF, Wing Commanders Gagnon and Colledge to our commemoration. This simple and moving ceremony made all the more memorable by Nicholas playing the Last Post and Réveil with such skill.
We were delighted to go on and join with the Croissy town commemorations at the Mairie later that morning and to meet with pupils from local schools and our children from Croissy’s German twin town.
