Real Tennis masterclass for DofE students
When BSP pupils join the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, they can expect the unexpected… In this past week, Duke of Edinburgh students, including two of our silver award participants were invited to attend a possible once-in-a-lifetime Real Tennis masterclass in Paris. One of the experts was HRH Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, third son of the Queen. The students met and spoke to HRH before watching him play two Real Tennis matches with other club members. Included in the young group of participants were two other BSP students thanks to their personal membership of the Real Tennis club where the event was held.
HRH, the Earl of Wessex is undertaking a Tennis Challenge throughout 2018 to raise funds and awareness for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International award, meeting participants and volunteers and testing his Real Tennis skills by playing on courts worldwide along the way.
