Year 9 Art Day – The Big Draw
Year 9 enjoyed a day of fun drawing-based activities on the theme of “play”. This was chosen by the international drawing festival group known as “The Big Draw”. The year group were split into houses and took part in three workshops throughout the day.
The first workshop was a collaborative ink drawing led by Miss Wall, where the students had to make decisions about scale and line to carefully overlap drawings on a whole year group mural.
The second workshop demanded careful tonal observations as they made their own version of the much loved game “exquisite corpse”.
The final workshop introduced a variety of new and creative ways of drawing to the group. The activities included blind drawing, tying hands together for a collaborative drawing, drawing using long sticks and continuous line contour.
