KS3 English – House Drama Competitions
Years 7, 8, and 9 have finished their year of English working together in House groups rather than classes and delivered some wonderful performances.
Year 7 revisited the short story ‘Don’t Ask Jack’ – last seen in their Reading Examination – and turned Neil Gaiman’s terrifying tale of a demon toy into a short play. The stimulus for Year 8 was the Impressionist painting ‘Le Bal du Moulin de la Galette’ by Renoir. Thinking ahead to GCSE Literature, Year 9 were given a poem from the AQA ‘Power and Conflict’ Anthology, which they had to decipher and dramatise.
