A Visit to the British Embassy

Politics is often about what happens in “smoke-filled rooms”, beyond the gaze of the public. This veil of smoke was lifted today when Sixth Form politics and history students were able to interview the British Ambassador  today, who was also David Cameron’s chief of staff from 2005 to 2016.

We were given a warm welcome and really sensed the central role the embassy plays within and representing the British community. The residency embodied how Britain and France have such an intertwined past and it was evident that maintaining this relationship continues to be a priority. Taking time out of a very busy schedule (only yesterday he was in Brixton with French Interior Minister Gérard Collomb and Amber Rudd) the Ambassador gave generously of his time to share both his challenges  and his experiences with our students.
