Year 3 celebrated the close of their ‘Ancient Egypt’ topic with an exciting journey back in time, spending a day further exploring this fascinating civilisation.
They crawled through the tomb of King Tutankhamun by torchlight and catalogued our finds, prepared a body for and completed a mummification with amulets to protect its journey to the afterlife whilst also carefully preserving organs in canopic jars, designed a death mask, discovered the civilisation’s fascination with the scarab beetle, crafted amulets, performed their Year group Ancient Egyptian song and, thanks to the fabulous Year 3 parents, enjoyed a scrumptious Egyptian feast!
They all had the most wonderful day and their sincere thanks go to all the staff and parents involved.
