Envahi par les Vikings !
Year 4 was taken over by Vikings, as the children spent the day learning about the lives and ways of these historic people. Warrior training developed their sword skills and ability to use their wonderful shields for defending themselves. They learned to march and attack as a team and also to build an impenetrable shield wall, before undertaking strength training activities.
The children learned how to weave in the morning and, having previously designed clothes for Viking people, they worked hard to create a Viking army using wool winding techniques with wooden pegs. The results were amazing and helped the children to imagine what it would have been like for the Anglo Saxons to face a great army of warriors.
