Boutique de la communauté ukrainienne

We are pleased that the school community has been able to make a truly positive contribution to Ukrainian families who sadly, since 24th February, have been forced from their homes. Thanks to the countless donations from the BSP community we have sent van loads of emergency supplies to the Polish/Ukrainian border, the school has welcomed Ukrainian students into many year groups and we have established a ‘pop-up department store’ on the school campus to offer free supplies. All of this help takes time and effort to organise…

The maintenance team at school, Filipe, Andre and Jorge have been unbelievable.  They have spent hours moving,  building items and delivering donations to support all of the School’s efforts. They have done all of these things with enthusiasm and a wonderful generousity of spirit. They personify kindness and are a joy to work with. Thank you.

The new community shop has taken a considerable amount of time to organise and run over the past 4 months. The shop opened 11 times; we have had over 2,500 visitors and at least 5,000 bags of donations were received. As you can see from these photos the shop quickly spread to take up much of the Senior School front every Saturday morning. All this has taken an enormous amount of time and effort. At least 50 parents, 25 staff and 50 students have regularly given up their time. As a result we are delighted to have added many new friends both local and Ukrainian to our BSP community. It has been a difficult time but so many Ukrainians have helped us provide a welcoming atmosphere. Thank you.

All of the above needs organising! Rebecca, Alayne and Alma have been key to the driving force behind all of this, encouraging so many other parents and friends to also give up considerable amounts of their time to help. Everyone who has helped in this endeavour has been an inspiration. Spreading kindness, consideration and hope within our community and far beyond.

Finally a heartfelt thank you from me on behalf of the School to the whole community – those who have so generously volunteered and so generously donated – what a force!
