Year 3 children have been busy soil detectives! They learned how to take a representative sample for fair and accurate science work and studied their collected samples very carefully under magnification. They drew and labelled their findings and can’t wait to see the results of the soil separation investigation (we had some very interesting predications).

Ask a Year 3 pupil and they will tell you, but did you know… in 1 teaspoon of soil, there are more microorganisms than there are people on our planet?

Amazing soil! What an exciting start to our first science
