The great outdoorsWe provide a myriad of opportunities for Senior School pupils to participate in a wide range of recreational sporting activities. These sessions are designed to engender enjoyment, social interaction and learning as well as, hopefully, to set a trend for an active life in the future. Trips related to the curriculum help to develop a pupil’s investigative skills and longer residential trips, in particular, encourage greater independence and self-reliance. For many BSP pupils, the trips they participate in are among the most formative, enriching and enjoyable aspects of their education with us.
As well as cultural and fieldwork trips in France and elsewhere, the School offers participation in The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Model United Nations (MUN), the UK Maths Challenge and outdoor activity weeks for the whole of Years 7, 8 and 9.
There is a rolling programme of lunchtime and after school clubs and societies, which change every term with a view to appealing to as many pupils as possible. The list of Clubs includes, but is not limited to: Choir, Fun-Run Club, Glee Club, Guitar Club, Scrabble Club, INK – the BSP creative writing group, Chess Club, Film Society, Cookie Jar Book Club, Introduction to Engineering Club, Circuit Training, Yoga Club, Young Economist Club, Rowing Club, Café des Sciences, Climbing Club and Irish Dancing Club.
