The image of the School depends on all pupils being clean and smartly dressed at all times. We do not wish to see exaggerated hairstyles, nor jewellery, nor make-up. The acceptability or otherwise of any dress will ultimately be judged by the Head of each school.

It is essential that all items of clothing be clearly labelled with your child's name.

Winter uniform is to be worn from the beginning of half-term in November until the end of the Spring Term.

Items marked with an asterisk are to be obtained from the School Uniform Shop, which is open during term time Tuesdays and Thursdays 9.00 – 13.00. Please call the uniform assistant on 01 34 80 45 91 or email to uniform@britishschool.fr

Outer Garments
Plain grey or navy blue Anoraks, scarves etc., should not bear slogans, logos etc. American-style caps should not be worn.

Pupils in Years 12 and Year 13
Since visitors often judge the school by the presentation of the Sixth Form for their involvement in tours around the school, their presentation and comportment should therefore help to create a positive image of the school.

Senior pupils are expected to conform to the general guidelines given above, and to make sensible use of their relative freedom of choice, avoiding extremes of colour and style. In general terms, we expect boys and girls to dress in a way which reflects their status at the senior part of the school, specifically; the Sixth Form dress code comprises shirt and tie for males and blouse for girls. Trousers cannot include jeans defined by both material and cut. All students should wear leather shoes. Leather boots (not suede) can be worn when the weather deems them appropriate. Prefects in addition have to wear a suit or jacket and trousers (trousers or skirts for girls).

Students must be prepared to accept the judgement of the Deputy Head Pastoral and Head of Sixth Form as to the suitability of what they are wearing.

** Available from either the uniform shop or the School Office at Bougival. The all weather jacket is worn as a coat with the summer uniform and an essential part of the PE equipment in the winter months.
