Our alumni, Old Parisians, have fascinating, exciting and diverse careers and we want to harness this experience to help inspire current students. Among our notable alumni are the Man Booker prize-winning author of  Life of Pi, Yann Martel, Creative Director at BMW, Jochen Paesen and acclaimed film director Barnaby Southcombe (son of Charlotte Rampling).

A part of the work of the School’s new Development Office is to assist pupils with their career aspirations by identifying Old Parisians, current and former parents and friends of the School who would be willing to impart the benefit of their experience in a particular field. A series of ‘Meet the Professionals’ lecture lunches is planned for the new academic year to give pupils the opportunity to hear at first hand from practitioners of law, medicine and business in an informal setting where they can ask questions and really get the ‘inside track’ on the career they’re interested in. Some former pupils, current and former parents assist the School’s Sixth Form team in preparing pupils for University selection by agreeing to give them a mock interview and we are always looking for more volunteers. With competition for university places and graduate jobs so fierce, practical work experience often gives candidates an added edge. If you are able to offer form of workplace training – from one day’s work experience upwards – we would love to hear from you. As a new graduate, please do also get in touch; we may just have alumni contacts to enable you to acquire the skills and experience to help you stand out from the crowd. We also support graduates who are moving to other countries by putting them in touch with former BSP pupils who can provide them with local knowledge and help them settle in. If you are happy to lend a hand in this way or would like to benefit from making contact with an Old Parisian wherever you are, please do get in touch. All BSP leavers, parents and former parents are warmly encouraged to register their career details with us to enable us to create a resource bank for senior school pupils and recent graduates alike. Whether you volunteer to be a mentor, offer work experience or agree to speak at a ‘Meet the Professionals’ lecture lunch, by reconnecting with the BSP your contribution to helping pupils in their life beyond the banks of the Seine will be greatly appreciated.
