The New Junior School

With the construction of a new purpose built Junior School in Croissy-sur-Seine, the British School of Paris is entering an exciting new phase of its development.

The new Junior School is due to open in 2010 and will be situated very close to the existing site of the Senior School, along the leafy banks of the river Seine. Construction on the site started in September 2008 and progress to date is on time and on schedule.

Facts and figures
The School will be located in an area of 1.2 hectares and the accommodation will comprise 7,300 metres squared of usable space. There will be a total of 35 classrooms able to accommodate up to 480 pupils.

An additional advantage of the new Junior School will be the introduction of a nursery or foundation stage section, with this in mind 4 bespoke classrooms and 2 activity areas are being built for these pupils aged 3 and over.

They will also enjoy a large, separate play area of 440 metres squared. Due to the spacious and well-designed use of the area available, comes the advantage of being able to manage class sizes at a target level of 18 pupils.
