The Junior School Bougival occupies an attractive site in the western suburbs overlooking the Seine valley. The school is situated in high wooded grounds within a beautiful park, which offers many opportunities for sport and out-door studies.
At the Junior School we believe that from the earliest age, every boy and girl should have an enjoyable experience of school, so are motivated to learn and succeed within a caring and committed environment. We aim to provide a broad, balanced curriculum which will equip each child for life both in, and out of the classroom.
During the daily French lesson, the children are placed according to their experience in the language in one of the three or four groups across their year group. The members of staff teaching this subject are all native speakers.
In addition, all children are taught PE (including swimming) and Music by specialist teachers. There is a junior choir and two orchestras, all of which encourage participation and enjoyment, while also achieving high standards. There is an opportunity for a team of Year 6 pupils to take part in the annual ECIS Primary Schools Maths Quest.
There is a bus service covering routes not only from the surrounding area, but also from central Paris. The children are supervised at all times during the journey to and from school by members of staff. The website, like a prospectus, may afford you a glimpse of the life at BSP and the opportunities available to your children, but it is hard to convey the warm atmosphere that pervades the school.
I would be delighted to show you around so you may gain a real insight into the life and work of our pupils, and look forward to meeting you.
